The Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated., revealed a new line, the Admired Ivies of Vigilance x2. First, I have to thank my friend, Anias D. Sutton for even giving me the opportunity to film, and photograph these moments, correction these special and heartfelt moments! When given the opportunity I was a bit nervous about doing something to this high of a level. HBCU's are highly known for greek life and their probates, so it was very scary to even put myself out there. Overall, the girls and myself loved the video and photos that were taken by myself and other photographers there. I had two friends, Anias D. Sutton and Gabrielle P. Taylor who crossed AKA that night and it was so amazing to see their hard work pay off! They're now Alpha women and I can't wait to see what other things they do in the future. I remember Anias telling me about why she wanted to join and help the organization and I was just in awe when she went after what she wanted and ended up loving her sisters. I had been to other probates before at JCSU, such as the Zetas and the Kappas, but to actually be on the floor with these wonderful women was an accomplishment in itself! I'm so proud of these women and the efforts they put in to entertain the audience. The gym was full of families, friends, peers, loved ones, professors, and many others. I couldn't believe the turn out of this event and its great to feel the love of so many people who just wanted the best for them.

When preparing for this event, I had to make sure my SD card was empty so I could get everything. Once I got there I had to run from the gym to Biddle Hall to get the girls walking around campus towards the gym and you could just hear the seriousness and the tension in their voices and it was a shock to me. After getting to the gym, they lined up and entered the gym with their heads down and the crowd went crazy! Next, they did their greetings and reveals, and I tried to capture as many girls as possible. Honest and truthfully, I really wanted to get my two friends and their moments because of how much dedication and determination they put into this process! Anias' reveal was by far my favorite reveal because of how loud and energetic she was! When hearing her voice, all I could do was smile and cheer because I was so proud of her! And then my girl, Gabby represented our city and I just lost it! I remember I said, "The 317!" lol. This was by far one of my favorite moments being here at Johnson C. Smith University! It was great to feel and be apart of something that I can definitely tell my children once they grow up. I can't wait to see what these group of women do next for the organization of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated.
